A scanner would read the document (like a Xerox) and convert to digital for computer. The computer would store it in a format it can read and then convert (or not) to what you would like the output to be (JPG is the most popular format) and write it to a floppy disk or CD or DVD of your choice. Believe photo shops may be set up for this now, and perhaps even copy shops. Remember there is a copy on the computer that you may want to remove if it is personal.

I do the same, use digital camera, for making copies for record. The inexpensive Casio models have a program text mode that seems to always provide very good copies. They also have a document mode to try and make the lines straight but the text mode seems to provide a better copy.

On a larger scale, are there companies in BKK that cut the binding and scan books?

I have a number of technical books I would love to convert to an electronic form.

Any help is appreciated.

I would like to scan a document in an internet cafe. How does this work and how can I store this scan ?

E-mail it to yourself.
