Several months ago I asked this same question, is there a secure car parking lot at or near the Friendship bridge where we can leave our car while we visit Vientiane for a couple of days. Unfortunately back when I originally asked our plans change and we didn't make the trip. A couple posters replied that their was secure parking available. Can anyone tell me if secure parking is still available as we now plan to make the trip next week.

i'm not sure what you mean by "secure". there is a large lot on the left, before the official border buildings, plenty of activity and cop/official people around. i've used it in in the past. if you want covered, etc, etc, i haven't a clue.

Just before the bridge on the right, behind all the visa shops. Covered and secure. They lock the gate at night and release the dogs. 80 baht a night.

if it's before the bridge, that would be after the thai border checkpoints. do you have to jump thru all the hoops as if you're bringing your car into laos?
