Koh Tao murders: Night crime simulation at Sairee beach to look for clues

1. they were found naked, but they did not leave the party naked

Where are their clothes?

2. Thbe murder island is a small island with a not to numerous population

The next step should be getting the DNA of everybody tested (making sure not to rule out the Thai population and the mighty families) And get information who disappeared after the murder

She was wearing her clothes though dishevelled, she was not naked.

so how many semen dna were found ? if they want to accuse the 3 myanmar people, that there should be mixed semen from 3 or 4 guys (3 + boyfriend ?)

1 am is best time to look for any new possible forgotten clues ? strange way of thinking

next news might be ... the girl who got raped and got lipstick & dna on it ... was smoked by the ... raped girl ? you never know

Here is a novel idea. Maybe it's time they should consider that it was a Thai or Thai's that did it. Now that they have wasted the first few precious days focusing solely only on foreigners...unbelievable.

I can't believe they let those poms go. If your mate gets murdered the only reason you do a runner is if you have something to hide. If he is innocent then he's a first class a hole for running away and not trying to help find who is responsible.

'Anywhere else in the world this would have been sorted out "long time ago"'

Are you joking? In the US murderers often go unsolved or the wrong person is prosecuted, and many anywhere's that are not the US are much worse at solving crimes than the US.. this is a difficult case and that isn't a small island, they're gonna need some help.. one time this Thai guy in pattaya shot 2 russian young women dead in the middle of the night on the beach and took off, the police had no clue but the murderers family turned him in.. hopefully someone comes forward.. I'm guessing that the Girl was a target of rape, when the british guy saw her being attacked he tried to stop it and was then murdered.. i think they should be taking a look at boat operators and that type of person, when i vacationed down there the boat driver seemed like a creep and his friends were creeps and i read previously that boat operators were harrasing people trying to use the beach.. not that all southern boat operators are bad..

If the mafia on the island are that powerful that they can orchestrate such a deliberately pathetic search for the murderer(s) and so conceal their families' murdering and twisted sons then it is time for an independent force with muscle to move in to solve this case. Anywhere else in the world this would have been sorted long ago. Grow a pair Thailand !

Here's a wild idea: round up all the local gangs.

In the last few years I've seen an increase in local Thai gangs consisting of teenagers. Now they seem to be everywhere with their scooters, not caring about anything or any one. If Thailand doesn't address this problem, it only needs a few criminal figureheads and a large, organized mafia organization will be born from those young members. The junta should act now, decisively and using the army as enforcers if they are to do anything about it.

The police are not even trying to investigate this properly, they are just trying to save face, by not finding a Thai or Thais guilty of these brutal murders. I believe the murderer or murderers are Thai. I don't believe an argument between David and another farang would have escalated into him and the girl getting there heads smashed in with a hoe, and where would the farang killer have found the hoe ?

I believe it to be local thai youths. The only problem is, this has hit the international media and the the last thing Thailand wants to admit to is that this crime was committed by Thai people. I think in the end the police will pin it on foreign Asian workers.

Lets face it the Thai police don't want to do proper police work, they just want the matter to go away so they can get back to collecting money off farangs for not wearing a helmet. To them life is so cheap, as far as they are concerned the people are dead so lets move on. Their investigations are a joke, how many times has an obvious murder been reported as a suicide ?

The police were sceptical about the blood stained hoe as a viable piece of evidence. Well yeah, blood stained hoes are quite common as it turns out so it must just be a coincidence that one was found near a murder scene....Anything they ac do not to implicate a Thai in this, meanwhile the real suspect (most likely a Thai) is going to get away with it as too much time has been wasted now and evidence contaminated.

the disinformation and contradictions being uttered by our esteemed Thai police proves they are smarter than all us logic based fools on TV. This clever strategy is aimed at planting a sense in actual killers that Thai police are clueless and lack any real investigative skills, and thus will let their guard down. It will be a simple matter to scoop up the perps when they start running their mouths over their crimes in attempt to show how tough they are.

The police will not see that as a good idea because they do not want to find a Thai guilty of the murders

A quote from Surat Thani police chief Kiattipong Khaosam-ang:

The semen DNA matched DNA found on the butt of an LM cigarette found beside a rock 30-50 metres from the crime scene .

Well, let's see here chief you're publicizing the brand of cigarettes that might have been discarded at the scene by the perpetrators. Now they can be sure to switch brands.

Face is the only driving force in Thailand, and it rears it ugly head here again.

This is not about solving the murders, it's all about saving face. They think they are showing us they know something. Instead, they are jeopardizing the case, and, before those of us who do know crime scene investigative procedures, making fools of themselves and therefore in fact losing face.

And if the police provided no details then you would say the lack of transparency is proof there is a cover-up.

The police are doing what police the world do--they are investigating a crime. Its a slow tedious process.

Why can't the members of this forum just let them do their job.

News flash folks. This is the real world. Its not CSI:Miami.

The case doesn't get closed in 50 minutes in real life.

.

Giving out info such as what brand of cigarettes were found at the scene, could reduce the evidence, circumstantial or otherwise, used to make a case after the arrest.

Don't worry about things like that. When they find them a full confession won't be a problem.

Heaven and Hell

Heaven Is Where:

The French are the chefs
The Italians are the lovers
The British are the police
The Germans are the mechanics
And the Swiss make everything run on time

Hell is Where:

The British are the chefs
The Swiss are the lovers
The French are the mechanics
The Italians make everything run on time

And the Germans Thais are the police

(Could not figure out where to place the Thais in the heaven part)

Fine. Who's gonna round 'em up? The Police? They are another gang. The government? They are yet another gang.

The International Criminal Court should be 'rounding up' these two gangs for starters.

The police also were sceptical about the blood stained hoe used in battering the two tourists to death.

A police officer said normally a criminal would throw away any weapon used in the murder to destroy evidence. But in this case, they were astonished when the hoe was not thrown away, just lied near the log and covered with a sack.

The murderer struck the victims with the hoe and then put it back to hide at the place, which was very unusual, an officer said.

This indicated that the murderer was a cold blooded person, he said.

Keep making public statements like this guys. It just shows your total lack of experience, and that you are unqualified to investigate a crime of this nature.

Sometimes we need to remember that a lot of these articles are misquoted due to translation issues. We would also sound stupid sometimes if what we were saying was translated directly into Thai...Perhaps' cold blooded person' was not translated properly. They do have a point about the murder weapon usually being hidden or discarded away from the crime scene...

.

Not a matter of translation.

This chief of police, and other officers, are publicly describing a crime scene.

In detail.

If an arrest is made and/or a suspect is interviewed, and he makes a statement that, yes, he was walking on the beach (because he knows someone saw him and he can't lie about that) but, oh no, sir, I had nothing to do with the crime, but while yakking away under pressure from a good interrogator, slips up and includes facts about, for instance, where the hoe was left after the murders (under a sack, according to one blabbermouth cop), he can simply say, oh, I read that in the paper.

These guys are way out of their league. The poor police work is just making it harder to identify the perpetrators, and later get a conviction.

Again, it's all about face. See how much we know? How good we are?

But don't worry, they will get a confession, once they decide who they want to be guilty. Then there won't need to be any evidence, nor a trial.

Who were the others on the beach party that evening? Where are the friends of the victims? Can it be a love crime? Who is the true boy friend of the woman? Can it be that the killer(s) came by boat? Did they were attacked in their sleep? Why is the murder weapon still on place of the crime scene? Did the police talked with the parents? Is anything missing?

Yesterday's news: "Police confident that killers will be caught!"

Today's news: "Police running out of ideas in search for killers."

This all is so Thai, isn't it?

But what is even more Thai and utterly disturbing are the facts that A ) crime scene photos circulated on the internet B ) important and usually confidential crime scene details are given to the media C ) disturbing intimate details were given about in which body cavities semen was found, etc...

If I would be a parent of one of the victims I sure would sue the $#it out of this country, the media and everyone involved...

So they found several other pieces of evidence at low tide on Thursday night.

I assume this is at the same place that tourists have had access to and that reporters have been trampling over, if pictures I have seen online have been accurate.

Running out of ideas, I believe they have locked the island up, does this mean no one can leave the island unless they have been cleared.

So, any one wanting to leave the island must give DNA sample first.
