MSU opens Smart Tourism Center

MAHA SARAKHAM, 30 September 2014 (NNT) -- Associate Professor Dr. Supachai Smappito, the acting President of Mahasarakham University, has opened a Smart Tourism Center at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, Mahasarakham University. Participating in the opening ceremony were Assistant Professor Dr. Somkiat Pupatvibul, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, and Mr. Akkapol Preuksawan, General Manager of the Regent Cha-am Hospitality School.


Professor Wiriya Siboonreung, who is responsible for this program, said that the university's Smart Tourism Center has been established as an integrated tourism resource center, by providing online information on electronic devices, and by storing research papers on tourism in the online database. Users can access electronic documents simply by using the QR Code. Moreover, the Center is to be a tourism learning center for students, the faculty, and other organizations in the northeastern region. Its intended that this Center helps to prepare Thai people for the AEC integration in the near future.

Police look for man in VDO footage as a key to provide clue of murder

Army chief retires after four turbulent years

Drones to keep an eye on national parks

Deputy PM confident murderers of British tourists will be arrested soon

Civil court annuls expulsion order against Indian businessman Satish Sehgal

Civil Court conducts hearing on Indian businessman’s deportation case

BANGKOK, 30 September 2014 (NNT) - The Civil Court of Thailand has summoned Mr. Sathit Segal for a hearing after he had filed a petition against former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her deputy Chalerm Yubumrung over their orders to deport him out of Thailand.

Religious teacher shot dead in Pattani

PATTANI: -- A religious teacher was shot dead Monday night in a drive-by shooting while he was riding home in a motorcycle in Panare district of Pattani.


The victim was identified as Waesumae Sudden, 67.

Pol Col Panyawat Chumsang, head of Panarae police station, said the shooting happened at about 8.00 p.m. on Highway 42 in Tambon Kuan of Panarae district.

The victim was riding home alone after performing his routine prayer at a mosque.

Two men in a motorcycle followed him behind and fired several shots on his head with a handgun.

He was hit on the head and fell to the ground with his motorcycle.

He was admitted to Panarae hospital and was pronounced dead later.

Cause of the shooting was not yet known, he said.

BANGKOK: -- The Civil Court on Tuesday revoked the order of the defunct Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) to deport the Indian businessman Satish Sehgal with reason that the deportation order's was discriminated and defying its order.
