Arrest Warrant for Koh Tao Murder Suspect to be Issued in Three Days

SURAT THANI, 1 October 2014 (NNT) - Royal Thai Police expect to issue a warrant within three days for the arrest of a suspect in the case of the double murder on Koh Tao.

Pol.Lt.Gen Panya Mamen, Assistant Commission-General of the Royal Thai Police, today disclosed progress in the investigation of the murders of two British tourists on Koh Tao, Pha Ngan district, Surat Thani province, saying that the police now have enough information to issue an arrest warrant for the suspect in the case.

The police have interrogated ten witnesses and received relevant information that conforms with the forensic evidence gathered. The witnesses are Thai citizens and immigrant workers who had been in the AC bar, about the time the crime happened on the nearby beach, after midnight. The police are confident that a warrant can be issued within 2-3 days.

Pol.Col Apichart Boonsriroj, Acting Commander of the Surat Thani Provincial Police said that he is giving the case top priority by working with the current investigation team. The Surat Thani Provincial Police will work closely with the administrative team and members of the private sector to set up a team of volunteers to work with the police patrolling the area 24 hours a day as a surveillance measure to ensure the safety of tourists.

There are comments about why no farang witnesses and about doubt that there will be a warrant or an arrest. This no doubt involves someone with big money and influence. Thai mafia family. And a farang with money. There will not be any arrest. There will not be any warrant. I doubt these simpletons police stooges even have the smarts to even come up with a fall guy to frame. It will just end up being an unsolved incident.

The police have interrogated...

This news report just come in from the Daily M.

Quote

"Thai police investigating the murder of two British backpackers tried to bribe a taxi driver to give false evidence against a football team then beat him up when he refused, it was claimed today.

Pornprasit Sukdam claims he was offered 700,000 baht (£13,300) if he agreed to be a fake witness to events leading up to the deaths of David Miller and Hannah Witheridge in Koh Tao.

But when he turned down the offer, he claims the officers became angry and attacked him before releasing him on Monday evening".

A Sickening read! He is one of the alleged players from the football team.
