Hua Hin monitors flood situation

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, 7 October 2014 (NNT) – Hua Hin municipality is now monitoring the flood situation in the area, due to ongoing rain.


Today overcast weather still covers Prachuab Khiri Khan province, following rainfall for two consecutive days. The rain caused floods in low lying areas of Hua Hin municipality, especially in Phongnet village, and Soi Hua Hin 102 where floods happen regularly.

The flood situation was resolved after the Disaster Prevention And Mitigation Provincial Office District 12 installed a high-pressure water pump at the entrance to the village. The water level was reduced to normal but the situation must be monitored for 24 hours.

Armed forces from Fort Thanarat infantry center helped people in the area move their belongings up high enough and away from the flood. Meanwhile, Prachuab Khiri Khan Governor Veera Sriwattanatrakul has checked the area and ordered the removal of water hyacinth and other weeds from canals to speed up the drainage of flood water.
