Hmmmm...... "The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) commissioner and his deputy..."

I hope they are responsible for considerable upcoming loss of face for Thailand over a certain matter.

Is that too much too hope for?

Far too much since CIB wasn't responsible for the Koh Tao investigation.
You do know one of the CIB's vision's is to help, assist and provide safety for tourists.
Yes. Was either of the men removed the head of the Tourist Police?

Well considering the tourist police is a division of the CIB then yes.

?? No. Is that in their mission statement? Cant recall hearing them mentioned re tourist safety?

The tourist police is a division of the CIB.

And now the chief of the Crime Suppression Division, Police Major General Chaithat Boonkham, and chief of the CSD’s Sub-Division 1, Police Colonel Akkharawut Limrat, have been transferred to the to the Royal Thai Police Office without warning.

BANGKOK: -- The Royal Thai Police commissioner ordered an immediate transfer of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) commissioner and his deputy to the Royal Thai Police, effective Tuesday.

No reason was given in the lightning transfer of the CIB commissioner Pol Lt-Gen Pongpat Chayaphan, and CIB deputy commissioner Pol Maj- Gen Kowit Pongrungroj



The reason was revealed today:



Two Thai policemen charged with royal defamation

Bangkok: Two high-ranking Thai police officers have been charged with royal defamation, an official said today.

Central Investigation Bureau chief Pongpat Chayapun and his deputy Kowit Vongrongrot have been charged under the strict lese majeste law, a police spokesman told AFP. "The two police officers have been arrested and charged under Section 112," national police spokesman Prawut Thavornsiri said, confirming their names and positions.

He would not confirm where they were being held or give any other details of the arrests.
