Report Ho Chi Minh City Braces for Over 20 Rainy Days This Month
File photo for reference only Ho Chi Minh City is preparing for a wet July, with more than 20 rainy days expected, according to the Southern Regional Hydro-Meteorological Center. The southwest monsoon will start with moderate strength, intensifying as the month progresses. In the early part of July, residents can anticipate scattered showers and thunderstorms. Moderate to heavy rain is predicted for some areas, mostly occurring from midday into the evening. By mid-month, weather patterns suggest the formation of low-pressure systems in northern Vietnam and the East Sea that may develop into tropical storms, bringing more scattered showers and thunderstorms. As the month concludes, another low-pressure trough is expected to impact the region, maintaining the pattern of rain throughout Ho Chi Minh City. Rainfall during the latter part of July is forecast to be heavier, especially in the afternoons and evenings. In terms of temperature, July will see cooler days compared to June. The average temperatures will range from 27 to 28.3 degrees Celsius, with highs between 31 and 34 degrees, and lows from 23 to 27 degrees. Rainfall for July is expected to meet or exceed average levels, particularly mid to late month. Authorities warn of potential hazards such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds. Urban areas are at risk of significant flooding due to extensive rainfall. Officials urge residents to stay alert to the potential dangers of adverse weather. High tides, combined with heavy rainfall, could lead to flooding in low-lying areas. For those living near the East Sea, caution is advised as storms could generate large waves and dangerous sea conditions. It is important for citizens to monitor weather updates and heed advice from local authorities to ensure safety. In summary, with more than 20 rainy days anticipated, July in Ho Chi Minh City promises to be cooler yet considerably soggier than usual. Residents should remain vigilant and prepared for shifting weather dynamics throughout the month. Adapted by ASEAN Now from VN Express 2025-07-08 -

Health Rabies Deaths Triple in Thailand: Urgent Alerts Issued
No there wasn’t. That uncertainty was propagated and pushed by special interests and fed to the masses through the media via fear and hysterics. Remember clearly reading mass amounts of science journals back then, every single one that cited serious concerns were shut down and scrubbed off. And what was telling about the mass hypnotic influence is when they started poking babies with it. That period epitomized how people can be so gullible and foolish, and still with all the evidence, they persist to save face. Now that’s stupid.
