NBTC to provide more digital TV coupons

CHIANG MAI, 28 November 2014 (NNT)-The National Broadcasting Telecommunication Commission (NBTC) will be distributing digital TV coupons in Chiang Mai for the second time

According to the NBTC, nearly 200,000 coupons will be given to residents in 7 districts within digital TV coverage, which include Saraphee, Sankhampang, Sanpatong, Sansai, Hangdong and Doi Saket.

More coupon will also be distributed in 18 other districts once coverage in those areas reaches more than 80% of homes. Home owners are required to register at the local post office in order to receive the coupon.

Residents have been reminded not to trust anyone who promises to deliver them the coupons. The NBTC has also asked the Cabinet to consider providing coupons to those renting homes or without proofs of house registration.

Residents are urged to have their addresses verified by district offices in their areas in order to obtain the coupon. The NBTC said the Cabinet would likely approve the proposal as it would give everyone equal access to digital TV coverage.
