Next year the Racing Pigeon International Association will let fly their winged contenders to swoop through skies across the kingdom at an international pigeon race that will draw none other than that great friend to pigeonhood everywhere – former champion boxer Michael Gerard “Mike” Tyson.

Thailand to hold international pigeon racing

BANGKOK, 13 January 2015 (NNT) – The Racing Pigeon International Association (RPIA) is gearing up for Pigeon Racing this May, utilizing the route through the regions of Thailand, while planning to hold an international pigeon racing contest next year.

The RPIA President Sunthorn Jarumol yesterday held the press conference on the association’s pigeon racing contests in the regional level of Thailand.

The regional program includes the pigeon racing at the northern, northeastern, and southern region of Thailand. The competition is scheduled to commence in May 2015. Winner will receive the Royal Trophy from His Majesty the King.

The RPIA is also planning to hold an international pigeon racing contest in 2016. Participants from 30 countries have already confirmed attendance in the contest with about 20 thousand pigeons participating, of which some are worth up to 13 million baht.

One famous competitor, Mike Tyson, the American boxer, has already confirmed to participate in the pigeon race in Thailand.

loft) so overseas competitors are expecting the birds
