BANGKOK: -- Ayutthaya officials are looking for someone who dumped thousands of large, unused condoms in an empty field and tried to burn them.

Ten workers were sent this afternoon to clean up the condoms found in an empty field in the Saphantai subdistrict. The condoms were unpackaged, unused, piled up and partially burned.

According to Pol. Supoj Pensawang's insightful eyes, most of the condoms were large in size.

Guess they were to big for Thais.

They were ordered by a red Ferrari owner.........he was sure they would fit him.

Obviously some Australian bloke who had had enough and was heading home afer a (in)decent holiday.

Someone was trying to market 'safe' floating lanterns but the idea never caught on so they dumped their inventory.

It was the rubber farmers trying Thai style to increase demand for there rubber thus major price hike. well in can't be a Thai Thai's don't do that and the fact they were of the large size.

A strategy to pop up the price of Thai rubber, to help the rubber farmers.

I find the large one fit quite nicely.....which field was it ???

surprised they didn't burn them as we all know the lovely smell of burning rubber or plastic ....

On a more serious note, they are probably condoms that have not sold and passed the sell by dates. True, condoms have sell by dates. After the adults entertainments clamp downs in Chiang Mai, my just in case I got lucky condoms expired in 2003. Perhaps mine are amongst that lot in the OP.

Definitely a farang as Thais would never ever get to the trouble to try to burn them....

I guess someone got the bright idea to grow condoms.

This is to to funny !!!!!! No need for the large size here in thailand . So maybe this is why thai girls like us Farangs.

There is an obvious reason for this...it was just a couple years ago the press was bragging about how big the Thai males had become and the need to produce larger condoms...apparently they took the press seriously...and the Thai males did not measure up...

At less than 2 grams a condom (OK lets say 2 grams) 2 tons is 2,000,000 condoms,

Gee, with songkran approaching, I would have thought some enterprising Thai person would buy them up and market them as good for water balloons. Oops. That's all we need, water balloons tossed from high story buildings.
