January 29, 201511 yr Does anyone know for sure if affidavit for marriage can be accomplished at US Consulate in Chiangmai? Or does it have to be done at Embassy, and if so, by appointment or walk in. Does this document have to be take to legalization office in Bangkok. Re-regeristing marriage after divorce at local Sarapi District office. Anybody know the procedures to do this. Understand have to get all new paperwork to marry. Please help if you have personal knowledge of this procedure. Than thank you so much.
January 29, 201511 yr Just go to the local Sarape District office and annul the divorce. Many including Thai to Thai marriages are not registered with the government for good reasons. So before you do it you need very good reasons and to be sure you have checked all the negatives and found them acceptable. Good luck.
January 30, 201511 yr Super member, or anyone who can advise, my Thai wife passed away June 28 2014. I have a Death Certificate (DC) of course but if in the distant future I wanted to marry a Thai lady what would I have to do? Just present the DC at the Amphur or go back to my embassy as I did previously to get a stat dec etc? Thanks for any advice.
