RE REgister my bike and insurance where and how

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I bought my motorbike last year in Chon Buri and moved up here a couple of months later

My registration/tax/mandatory insurance is running out this month

I like to renew it all

I have heard you can go to like a bike shop and they will do everything for you but it costs more

or you can do it on your own at the correct locations

My questions are

1. What do I need to do it? Do I need certificate of residence or anything

2. Where do I pay for it and get it done for the registration and insurance

3. how much should it cost both doing it on my own and by an agent like a bike shop

Thanks so much

found a couple articles online how to do it

but not sure

do I need a resident certificate or any documents to re register my bike

this is not a new register but extending it from my purchase last year

No cert of residence needed.

Take bike and green book to Nong Hoi Land and Transport office. Go into busy building at back, show green book to helpful lady in back corner. She will direct you from there.

Cost, about 400B inc insurance if less than 150cc, 750B if more than 150cc.

Unlikely but they may want you to transfer bike onto Chiang Mai plates, tell them you spend most of the year in Chonburi.

great thanks so much for this information, do you know if it is a busy process

meaning will I be waiting all day like I might at immigration or is it pretty quick?
