No equivalent to Health Land in CNX ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have moved very recently from BKK to Chiang Mai, and I'm very satisfied with my decision overall...except for finding a reliable place for my once/twice a month Thai massage and the occasional oil/herbal compresses one.

The market seems to be split between shabby shops I'm not keen on trying, and "turisticky" traps.

I look for something similar to Health Land in BKK, and a few other comparable places : clean, quiet, competent staff, reasonable prices...

Please help me with your tips on the matter to make my new life in Chiang Mai a truly comfortable one :)

Thanks a lot !

There probably are several good places around. My favorite for the last 15 or so years has been The Olde Thai Medicine Hospital. They teach massage there and always seem to have a good supply of people who know how to give good Thai massages.

As to getting there, it's somewhat at the end/curve of a soi off the east side of Tippanet; however, the usual way I go there is to go into the Nim City Plaza (where the Rim Ping grocery store is located) on Mihadol, go out their back entrance to the right/east, turn left, and it's on your left in about 100 yards. Last time (month ago) I was there it was 350 baht (not including tip) for a 2-hour massage.

Don't know about the oil/herbal thing as haven't ever asked for that there, just get a massage.

Thanks Lizard & Bob. I think I will test Loi Kroh Massage tomorrow and report back...
