Ah, now we've learned why the OP and his passport are separated!

You could do your 90 day report by mail which wouldn't involve your passport -- just copies.

Hi Nancy - I get mine done by a company and I will not be in Chiang Mai to receive it back by post hence if I can travel internally within Thailand without it that would be great - looks like i can! I'll take a colour photocopy and my Thai driving licence
