Why choose an e-visa over the 60-day exemption?
Not exactly. There is no specific limit on entries, but if you do that enough times, some IO will tell you that you've been staying in Thailand too long and hassle you when you try to enter. Nothing about that has changed by air. By land, there used to be a limit of two entries per year, but they removed that limit. But same as by air, the IO can still tell you that you've been staying in Thailand too long, hassle you or deny you entry. I preferred the old way when you knew the rule was two hassle free entries. I think the new way with no limit is much worse because IOs are making up their own rules. -

Learning Thai in three months
You can get it done in two weeks easily. Just learn 35000 words a day! I did it easily and it's no big issue that no one can understand a word I say. It's definitely the way to do it. -

It's usually a combination of that's what they come here for and them being too incompetant to pull a working woman. The language barrier usually makes it hard. ALso most tourists don't realize that the cultural norms prevalent in their own country are in Thailand too and think it's okay to do something you would never do in your home county., not too surprising since we all know which part of their anatomy men tend to think with.
