PATTAYA: -- Nongprue Police are currently searching for a driver who is responsible for striking a pedestrian on Highway 36 and failing to stop at the scene of the accident which caused the unidentified man to lose his life.

Police were called to the Highway, in front of the Bira International Racing Circuit just before 8am on Wednesday to investigate the incident. The body of the unknown man was discovered by other drivers at daybreak, lying on grass at the central reservation.

It is thought he died sometime during the nighttime hours and appears to have been struck by a vehicle which was being driven at a high rate of speed, according to the severity of the injuries caused to the man, who was carrying no forms of identification.

It isn't really a road for pedestrians!

He was trying to cross this very dangerous 6 lane highway of foot......

Traffic just off the motorway, or coming from Rayong drive fast and the road surface is poor in the area.

I live near it.

same story, different day

Same story, different day , same Pattaya.

Yeah right, cos it only ever happens in Pattaya. You'll never see H&R scum in Issan/Hua Hin/Phuket, wherever it is you're based. Pattaya knockers moan OK?

You can cross quite safely in the daytime because you can see clearly the speed of vehicles in the different lanes but yes in the night time it would be a nightmare because you can't judge the speed of vehicles from their headlights
