The five were caught in two separate raids on worker's camps in Patong.

PHUKET: -- Four Burmese men and one Burmese woman were arrested in Patong on Tuesday (March 31) after being caught in possession of kratom leaves, kratom juice and marijuana following raids on two worker̕s camps.

Kathu police led by Lt Col Suthichai Tienpo arrested the five Burmese nationals after raiding two worker's camps in Patong for drugs and other illegal activities.

Police first raided the Maneesri worker's camp where they arrested Tuntun Ow, 24, with 2 kilos of kratom leaves and Miss Yeen, 57, with cooked kratom leaves, kratom juice and cough syrup.

Both face being charged with possessing and producing a Category 5 drug.

The police then raided a second camp located behind the Fish restaurant on Ratcha Uthit Rd and arrested three more Burmese men.

Lo, 24, had cooked kratom leaves and 7.15 grams of ganja. He has been charged with illegal possession of Category 5 drugs.

Maew Wor Tor, 35, was found in possession of cooked kratom leaves, kratom juice, cough syrup and 60 fresh kratom leaves. He faces the charges of producing and possessing Category 5 drugs.

Apart from the bong, the picture looks like a cooking class for vegetariens.

From recent news stories, Kratom has become the drug of choice for planting as evidence by BIB. The prohibition of Kratom is an anachronism from the days in which the Thai government saw it as competition to its lucrative opium trade. Thailand is the only country where its possession is illegal.

They look like the masterminds of international drug production don't they

"Thailand is the only country where its possession is illegal."

Only if you ignore Malaysia and Burma.

Yep. That is why no Thais were arrested. They run these activities entirely without any involvement of Thais.

Pathetic show of misused power and discrimination in crime fighting.

They're busting these poor saps for kraton leaves while amphetamine use is skyrocketing. That's absurd. TIT
