PHUKET: -- Police have arrested a man who, for Phuket, is a big drug dealer, and seized 14,440 methamphetamine (ya bah) pills.

The initial arrest came at 4am yesterday (April 2) when officers stopped Mai Khao resident, Wutthichai Buthnga, 26, at the Tah Chat Chai check point. A search uncovered 10 meth pills and 0.77 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Police then escorted Wuttichai to his home in Moo 4, Mai Khao, which they searched. They uncovered 74 bags of meth pills totalling 14,430 pills, packed in boxes in the bedroom.

They also seized 638 plastic bags of various sizes, drug-smoking paraphernalia, Wutthichai’s iPhone and a Siam Commercial bank book.

On the phone they found photos that appeared to be of drug transactions and money transfers.

Wutthichai was taken to Tah Chat Chai police station and charged with possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell.

I started getting really jealous of Phuket.

Why is it the police can catch the drug dealers there and not much is happening in the rest of the country?

Prime Minister, please make a note of that..........some other police need some kicking in the ass.

For a country which has supposedly harsh punishment for those dealing and taking drugs, it is truly amazing to see that there are so many drugs in Thailand.

Well done to the police in this instance.
