Why does it take so long to restore power? It's the first storm of the year and I've had no electricity for hours. What's going on?

Thais and electricity along with driving are not good mixers.

Those are my only 2 complaints about living here. But I can drive competitively and have been able to avoid them for 36 years and I can fix their electrical problems to my satisfaction.

The electrical problems have been a challenge but I do see the end of the tunnel.

My friend in Nai Harn didn't have power from Saturday evening to Sunday 1pm - about 18 hours. In South Rawai it was off for about an hour on Saturday evening. Go figure.

How quickly was the fault reported ? Often people effected will just assume the power company knows. But the power company needs someone to phone them. My wife laughs at me when I insist on her phoning when power down, says someone else will phone. I tested that one time, did not phone, no-one showed up after 4 hours (usual response time is about one hour), we called and power company said that they did not know.

Also depends on how many faults reported in the same time frame. Fact is that in a rain storm plenty transformers pop the fuse. Usual only one local repair crew to service a big area.
