Need a plastic/concrete adhesive.

Featured Replies

Need a good adhesive to attach some lightweight plastic strips ( polycarbonate) to concrete. I had some good stuff from Japan but it has deteriorated over time in the tube and is unusable. Heading out to HomePro in Chiang Mai now. Very difficult to explain things to them for some reason.

Youre heading out to home pro without waiting for the advice.....patience is what you need first!

Ok so you have something from home pro?

Now the advice;

Go and look at the sikabond products they will have a tub of an appropriate product.

Secondly not sure of quantity but the polymer glues by loctite are ok and also your bog standard silicone in the gun tube. For a small amount i would try the clear silicone bathroom grade first of all.

For something carrying weight where strength is required then the polymer type sikabond.

I guess by now some bod at home pro had sold you some 3m masking tape!

Thanks for your advice. Never actually made it out there today. The silicone sounds good. I don't need to bear any load but I cant clamp or hold it anyway other than pressing it down.

The Buriram Global House Store and other hardware stores in Buriram sell Draga Super nail instant tack which is "formulated" in Germany. Some stores sell this for under 100 baht a 300 ml tube. Another low priced adhesive is "Max Bond" construction adhesive in the 320 ml tubes. This product is made in Australia but sold in Thailand for a sensible price. It states "Not recommended for mirrors on ceilings".
