PATTAYA: -- On Wednesday a team of Banglamung District Officers totaling more than 100 assisted by Police Officers, conducted a raid on a constructors campsite in the Huay Yai area where an estimated 400 foreign laborers were thought to be living.

The campsite is owned by the Pre-Built Construction Company who are responsible for the construction of a number of condominiums in the Pattaya area. When officers arrived, a number of the workers attempted to escape.

Eventually almost all the workers in the campsite were detained and checks were made for Work Permits and passports.

Another half-written article. The question on everyone's mind is "were these or were these not illegal migrants?"

Condominiums built by illegals. Doesn't bare thinking about. Oh unless these illegals were top notch workers in their own country.

Eventually almost all the workers in the campsite were detained and checks were made for Work Permits and passports. A total of 30 workers failed to produce the correct documentation and were later handed over to Chonburi Immigration who will deport the individuals back to their native countries at the earliest opportunity, if it is confirmed they are residing and working in Thailand illegally. .......... or the necessary fees have been paid!
