While it is scanning, the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool alerts that 1 file is infected. But when the scan is done the tool does not give any information about the fixing or removal of the infected file. Even clicking on the detailed results you only get a long list of not infected malwares and zero information about the 1 infected file. Could someone help me with an explanation? Thank you.

The tool is unable to remove the infected file... i.e. the OS itself.
