hi not sure if this has been asked before: were someone to visit thailand for medical stuff but wanted to avoid any repartation issues or god forbid complications to rack up the prices would there be a particular insurance that could be purchased e.g. for an old person, with high blood pressure, various breaks -now healed - etc coming to get a nice new hearing aid for example?

what insurance opportunities are out there?

please anyone

Coming here for a temporary period of time, should get a good travel insurance policy. This will, like all insurance policies, exclude any pre-existing conditions, however.

Most of the major insurance providers offer short-term travel policies. However only some will issue a policy to persons over age 65. It is probably best to get a policy issued out of the country you are resident of.

For those based in the UK, some info here (the policies mentioned would proibably be opne to other nationalities as well)

Pre-existing conditions can be covered at an additional cost , as I have just had a 6 month travel insurance for Thailand bought in the UK . Americas excluded . Tried various companies and the premiums ranged from £130 ish to £450 . I am 68 and a smoker with 3 declared previous conditions .
