Tropical storm Kujira to continue to bring rain to Northeast of Thailand

BANGKOK, 25 June 2015 (NNT) - The Meteorological Department has indicated that the Northeast of Thailand will continue to experience precipitation due to the tropical storm Kujira.

Kujira has weakened to a depression in the upper part of Vietnam, around 100 kilometers away from Hanoi. It now has a speed of 10 kilometers per hour.

Meteorologists said the tropical storm will continue to bring rain to the Northeast of Thailand. Those planning to visit Vietnam should consult weather reports before traveling.

Fishermen have been warned against strong gale winds in the Andaman Sea and the upper part of the Gulf of Thailand. Meteorologists caution fishing vessels that choose to disembark. Small fishing boats should remain ashore until June 27.

Hopefully it will reach our place (central Isan, western part of Khon Kaen province).

So far only clouds and some drizzle.

Desperately waiting for sufficient rain.

Until yesterday the news only said "eastern part of the Northeast", the usual strip along the Mekhong.

In southern Surin have only had a smidgen of rain. I put no trust in this report.wink.png

Sawang Daen Din between Udon Thani and Sakon Nakhon , , big black clouds but no rain since ..I don't remember but many days ...more than a fortnight sad.png

They make it sound like there is a lot of rain, but where i am there is none. Some parts of Isan does not get any of it. And if it did rin it rained for maybe 5 minutes still not enough to do any good.

A lot of black clouds north of C/Rai this arvo but my wife said they carried no rain as they were government clouds put there by planes.

Meteorological prognosticators forecasting much needed rain is a long way from rain.

Everyone is looking for a positive spin on the future. That said the rain has to come

sometime so I hope this is a correct forecast.

I find weather dot com to usually be pretty accurate. It's showing an 80% chance of rain in KK on some days the second week in July, and 60% chance on other days. I hope for rain for you guys.

It's showing the same for Udon, but also an 80% chance next Sunday.

Plenty of clouds in Korat but no rain to get excited about.coffee1.gif

Same here in Chayapoum. Plenty of black clouds but no rain. It's like God is playing with us.

Sometimes i think there better to say no rain and it may just come.smile.png

Wonder what effect this cloudseeding is having on an areas natural rainfall.

Over the past few days in Loei, have had a couple of heavy falls but only lasting about half an hour. Yesterday afternoon and evening had two heavy falls but only lasted approximately an hour at a time. A couple of weeks back had a few light falls in the evening and morning but nothing to write home about.

Today, a lot of clouds and blue sky but according to the locals we could get more tonight. Here's hoping but at least what we have had has flushed the weed build up down stream in the Loei River, it is quite clean now and a little higher so must be some heavy falls in the catchment area.

Hopefully it will reach our place (central Isan, western part of Khon Kaen province).

It is the same here in Khampaeng Phet province. Lots of black clouds but little rain.

Last week a few thunderstorms but they never last more than 30 minutes. The ground was so dry during the first one the water just ran off. At least now the ground is soft enough for it to soak in but still not enough to give us water from the government. Something we really haven't had since about mid January.
