I love eatigo!

With eatigo, com (better to download the APP) you can enjoy discounts from 10 to 50 percent at some very good local restaurants if you're willing to go during some off peak time slots.

You book via the site or app based on number in party and time slots.

Different time slots, different discounts offered.

Obviously 50 percent is the most attractive.

I have only used it one time so far, but I booked the place only an hour before the slot I wanted ... and I reckon you could probably book it even literally last minute or perhaps even after the time slot has started.

So you don't necessarily need to plan ahead.

Like if you're shopping at Central mall there are restaurant discounts you can book right there.

I mentioned this already in the Hit and Run thread ... but I think this is big enough for it's own thread.

As more people start using EATIGO please post here about your experiences using it.

Hoping of course for more local restaurants in eatigo.

You can also use it in Bangkok and Singapore.

40% discount at Hilton Buffet at 21:00 and 50% at 21:30.

Are these discounts off the net price? i.e. the quoted price they give there is always net.

It should make no difference as the service charge and VAT should be applied to the price actually paid.

The larger Edge discounts only apply near closing time as you have indicated, and you need to be at least two covers to benefit from them also. So not as good as it might appear at first sight. Their premium member card is much more generous but of course you have to pay for that.

I used Eatigo this week. The booking procedure was quick and painless, the restaurant was expecting me when I arrived and I got the advertised discount. As the restaurant was fairly pricey the discount brought the prices down to about what the meal was really worth.

Eatigo support dont seem to reply to emails though.

"Really worth" is an abstract and subjective concept. But I get what you mean ... most of those places wouldn't ever attract me at full price. But some others would.

In the restaurant business they do factor in food cost percentages of course and that's something you could objectively measure if you knew the number, but for example many people think a fancy venue or good view justifies a lot more money and some don't.

I'm going to add something to this.

You might notice that most of the restaurants are large corporate type places but some of them are small personal operations.

Personally, if I wanted to eat at the Hilton every day and I could get the 50 percent I would have no problem doing that.

But I couldn't do that or anything close to that at a small place with already reasonable prices at full price, where you get to know the hard working owners.

Have we no shame? I still have some.

2 covers? I never eat at restaurants alone.

21:00 gives you about 1.5 hours before they start bringing in the food and the official closing time is 23:30, so that' s plenty of time to enjoy it and there's also the advantage that it is not as busy during those later hours. I don't know what the current price is, but assuming it's 1800 for two, that's a savings of 720 baht.

It would be interesting to see what happens if you turn up, for example, half an hour early for the 40% and 50% discount time slots.

I've had 3 email replies in an hour. There was a problem with the booking and they fixed it up immediately.

In the case of the Edge, I do pay full price to eat there, so the discount is very good.

2 covers? I never eat at restaurants alone.

That's up to you. I almost always eat in restaurants alone as that's how I like it. I also dont like eating after 8pm in the evening but again that's up to the individual.

I was just pointing out that the Hilton is (apparently) unique amongst Eatigo advertisers in Pattaya in limiting the discounts to two covers or more. All the other places I looked at offer the discount from just one cover, and most seem to offer larger discounts for very early bookings as well as for very late ones.

Well, they certainly did not reply to my email.

LOL., It's up to me to eat with my wife? Well, that's the way we like it... and I enjoy eating any hours.

Would you expect and all-you-can-eat buffet to be offering early discounts?

Maybe they know about you from this forum.biggrin.png

I never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a reply.

No one is obliging anyone to advertise with Eatigo and to offer the discounts so it doesn't seem unreasonable to use them.

Most of the places in their list seem to be offering small discounts in busy hours (presumably to attract new customers) and larger ones in quiet hours (presumably just to get people in). Certainly the place that I went to would have been completely empty had I not been there. Even at a large discount on food prices I think that they still made a fair profit on my meal and a large profit on my drinks which were not discounted. Would it have been worthwhile them opening especially for me? Surely not. But they were open anyway and I have no qualms about getting a discount for going at an unpopular time.

I certainly would not have gone there at full prices but with the discount I am quite likely to go back in a week or two (and to go to other places in the list). Up to them whether they want this to continue.

The same applies to the 50%-off afternoon pizzas at Pastrami on Rye. (Are they still doing that by the way? I should go before the promo ends!)

A late discount for an all-you-can-eat buffet is a no-brainer - it's a win-win for everyone.

...so let's move on, thank Jingthing for the post and stop arguing that you're "presumably" not getting good value.

Whether I expect it or not is rather irrelevant. If you look at the list of Eatigo restaurants in Bangkok you will see hotel-style buffets that do indeed offer early discounts. And the Edge itself offers 50% to all their premium club members at any time (2 covers, fee payable for premium club membership).

I think the point is that the Edge is pretty busy most days outside of the post-9pm slot, so the Eatigo discount they offer is tailored accordingly. Makes sense to me anyway.

Premium Club Membership - 7500 baht

That's a good deal if you dine at the Hilton a lot. You get about 3000 baht back in complimentary buffets (for 2) straight way, with 50% discount thereafter, but I'd have to eat dinner buffet (for 2) there 7 times to break even (900 times discount each time).

It would be useful if you intended to stay in Hilton Hotels as you can save quite a bit on accommodation.

I don't think you really got my point.

Small scale places might use eatigo to introduce the public to their little known restaurant and assuming the new customers lured in by a deep discount loved it, the owners would really hope that people wouldn't abuse the offer by overdoing it and only going when there is a deep discount. Sorry, there is a potential human factor with small restaurants which doesn't exist in large corporate operations. If you can't see that, up to you.

Anyway, yes the pizza promotion special is still on at Pastrami and Rye, daily, indefinitely with no set ending date from 4 to 6 for large size eat there or take out thin crust, pan, or Sicilian (square thicker crust).

  • 1 year later...

I used it last night in Bangkok...

... My Wife and I were unsure what we fancied...  Stay in and Cook? not to Cook? Go out and eat, but where? Korean? Thai? International? Japanese?... it was one of those times we were pretty indifferent to anything food wise...

... I took a look at eatigo for ideas... saw a German place and booked it - 30% off...

Does anyone still use this app?

I use it on average once a week or so, and about half those bookings are in Bangkok where the choice is vastly superior. If I lived in Bangkok I would probably use it many times each week.

If some of the Pattaya places that were previously on it still were then I would surely use it more often here.
