Harveyg Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Another tourist murdered but solved by RTP as suicide - Amazing anybody come to this dump but soon the party is over, Thailand, and you have seen your last tourist ... You know... When one goes to Rio you know to be ultra careful. I bet every tourist going there knows that. I learned the hard way I'm sorry to say, but still go every year with local friends and a heads up attitude. wonder how long it took for Brazil to gain that reputation. Also wonder if I was back home, would I have heard enough news about Thailand to make me pause about coming here, or at least have my radar out. How far along do you suppose Thailand is in producing that kind of reputation reputation?
robblok Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 accidentally fall into the pond while walking back to his hotel?? Yeah right... All Dutch can swim even if they are drunk. Btw it is not a common Dutch name. Are they sure the guy is Dutch? My my my ... You DO know a lot about the Dutch. Let's see, they ALL can swim when intoxicated. And no one named "David Houlihan" can be Dutch. Unlike you, i am not an absolute expert, but is there something about the Dutch that prohibit immigration to their country? 4 generations ago, my family moved from Germany to America. Help me here, do I have an American name, or a German name...? Oh wait, could it be I have very German name, and lived in America? Three postings to get to this tripe. What was the hold up? As a Dutch guy, i must say most of the native Dutch can swim. in 1990 90% of the schools had school swimming. Meaning people learned swimming during school hours. Now its less but most native Dutch still send their children to swimming lessons. The name is indeed not a normal Dutch name.. quite possible its an immigrant.
Baerboxer Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Another tourist murdered but solved by RTP as suicide - Amazing anybody come to this dump but soon the party is over, Thailand, and you have seen your last tourist ... They haven't claimed suicide. The inference is an accident, fell in a waste water pond, after a nights boozing. Now, they might be familiar with the location of the pond, perhaps poor fencing if any. small walls, no lighting etc. They might have been and checked with his friends and the bars to see how much alcohol had been consumed. They may have considered the likely hood of walking close to the pond on the way to his hotel. They may have closely checked the body for any signs of foul play and checked to make sure what belongings and cash were still there, etc etc. Or of course, they may have decided accident without getting off their <deleted>. Knowing the usual RTP standards, take your pick.

smokie36 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 This case reminds me of Kevin (screamingeagle)'s murder. RIP to both.
hgma Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Dutch or Irish, tragic and my sincere condolences offered. As for the way the Press Officers of the RTP are handling deaths in Thailand, it has to do with the regular occurence, meaning so many foreigners are tripping, drowning, kill themselves or fly out of a 33 story apartment that it becomes routine to come up with a 'normal' death occurence. Tragic really.
Johnny S Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Do we have Island of Death #2 and so near #1 ... ? RTP are amazing (like the rest of the sinking ship here) : Foreigner dead solved as Accident / Natural death / Suicide .... unless the foreigner got throat slit and likes and even then RTP can claim suicide .... Stay away from this stinking garbage Island and their mafia / RTP
evadgib Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Stay away from this stinking garbage Island and their mafia / RTP Pray enlighten us as to the GPS coordinates of your particular brand of Utopia? assuming of course that you do actually live in Thailand & arent sniping enviously at those that do from a sanctary in the west!
claffey Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 This guy was on holidays.Hardly had time to upset the local Mafia? It is possible that he was drunk, got lost and disorientated on the way home, fell into the pond and drowned.Try to be sensitive. This poor mans family may be reading this. Believe it or not tragic accidents do happen here and in many other holiday destinations around the country...
Kannikapor88 Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 ...people don't just die.... .....Oh.......yes........they..........do........ Could SOTIRIOS probably mean that the frequenzy of "Tourists killed in Thailand" is so much higher than any other destination that promote them self as a "Safe Beach Paradise" or how was the Words from Ms. Wristband Popcorn ... ? Thailand is a very dangerous country even when you are careful, thats the truth but of course not nice to hear for people that have invested here in e.g. Guesthouse, Bar, Zipline or whatever ... These people are already looking far after the next tourist since the TAT arrival numbers are taken from some Utopia ...

Do you actually defend the mafia on Samui and the 100% corrupt policeforce there ... Are you a barowner or a shill ?

spidermike007 Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Does anyone recall the David Carradine murder? He was found hanging with both of his hands tied and it was labeled a suicide. Not even sure Houdini could have tied his hands together after hanging himself. And that was labeled a suicide. And the RTP got away with that.
Basil B Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Given the accuracy of Thai reporting the "wasted water pond" may have just been the hotel pool...
longtom Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Does anyone recall the David Carradine murder? He was found hanging with both of his hands tied and it was labeled a suicide. Not even sure Houdini could have tied his hands together after hanging himself. And that was labeled a suicide. And the RTP got away with that. Not a good example, that was not labeled suicide but death by erotic asphyxiation. You might want to inform yourself about this practice a bit, because such deaths often include very complicated self-bondage 'systems'. A police official said that Carradine was found hanging by a rope naked in the room's closet,[79][80] causing immediate speculation that his death was suicide. However, reported evidence suggested that his death was the result of autoerotic asphyxiation. Two autopsies were conducted, one involving the celebrity pathologist Pornthip Rojanasunan, and concluded that the death was not a suicide.[81][82][83][84][85] The cause of death became widely accepted as "accidental asphyxiation".[86] Immediately following his death, two of his former wives, Gail Jensen[3][87] and Marina Anderson,[88][89][90]stated publicly that his sexual interests included the practice of self-bondage. There are enough questionable Farang deaths in Thailand, especially in Pattaya, which would be a much better example of shoddy police work.
