Which Cable Internet Yang Talat

Featured Replies

Hi All

Just heard today that cable has just run past our house and cable boxes put onto the houses. I'm due back there in November and would like to connect. The villiage is just out side yang talat. So any advice on how l connect and who you think is the best for that area would be great. Would be skyping and downloading a few movies.

Cheers

Bruce

i think in your area either CAT or TOT cat IS FIBRE OPTIC

Give CAT a good look at.

They have an office in Kalasin. Take the main tee intersection right to Roi Et and they are on your left just before a fuel station. If you don't speak Thai, take an interpreter......

They told me 3 month connection delay if you sign up. But for 6000B cash to the installer it could be connected on the following day.

I don't know how it is in Thailand, but in the US, if cable (or Fibre Optic) is laid down, it is not done by the goodwill of the gov't, but instead by a private company (e.g. CAT or TOT).

Thus, whichever company laid the cable is who you need to consult with regarding service. Not much of a choice!

Thanks Namom Neil,

Do you know what the cost of normal installation is?

Where do l find there internet packages.

Are you happy with them?

Bruce

I have CAT fibre in my village, the installation charge, which included the router WiFi setup was between ฿2,000 and ฿3,000 can't remember exactly how much. For 15MB down it is about ฿750 a month including VAT, pretty reliable service. In the three months I've had it, I have only been down 4 days. A lot better than the TOT service I had, when I was down an average if 4 to 5 days a month.
