Moving from Udon to Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi

Me and the mrs are moving from Udon to Phuket in a couple of weeks. We have two scooters and a bit of stuff we need to get down. I was thinking of renting a pickup and driving myself, but it's a bit expensive when you need to deliver it so far from the destination. Does anyone have experience in what it would cost me to rent a guy with a pickup to do the run?

Well, it's two scooters and some other stuff, a desk and such. So I would need to rent somebody with a pickup-truck to drive exclusively my stuff to fit everything in one go. But I'll check out the links off course :)

The bikes are OK to go by Thai Post but please don't ship any large personal effects by that method. I did the same in reverse in 2006. Three pick-up loads took my stuff from Rawaii to Phuket Town, change of vehicle, Phuket town to Bangkok, another change of vehicle, and finally to Udon .. another change of vehicle. Each vehicle change meant the "cargo" was just kicking around their yards. Nothing lost, but plenty of damage to TV, furniture etc. A c**k-up on my part if ever there was one. Wish I hadn't listened to my wife. There was a truck that would have done the lot in one hit but this was deemed too expensive (and wasn't her idea!!) Bikes showed up OK though.

Thai post will deliver any package up to 200 kg (and some size) from post office to post office (not to home address).

Its called "Logis Post".
