I know you are being facetious, but copying a brand name fashion item is a million miles away from trying to replicate a 900 year old temple complex. There is such a thing as weathering and patina that only age can produce.

From all the great temples i've seen in Asia there wasn't one in Thailand. I mean real temples like the Borobudur or Taj Mahall.

Why not build that thing in Bangkok saving the tourst the problem to travel all the way to the hinterland while being exposed to the reckless Van and/or Bus drivers and the souvenir consessions can be made available to genuine Sisaket born and raised citizens.

China spends a lot of money building tourist sites withing their borders. They are successful at it, too.

A lot of famous Thai structures have been re-created at the Ancient City (Meuang Boran) in Samut Prakan, including Prasat Phra Wihan.

You know what is so scary to think about. If Siam (Thailand) had gotten its way at around the colonial times when France was meddling, modern day Cambodia wouldn't exist and ALL of the Khmer people's identity would fade/start to fade away (I.e. Khmer cultural areas of Souther Issan) and it would be part of modern Thailand and Thais could happily claim Angkor Wat as "Their own"

But Thailand already has its own 'wonderland". Go look at "ancient city- Muang Boran " in Samut Prakan. Quite A wonderful replication of historic structures in and around Thailand.
