Where to get STP Gas Treatment in Phuket?

Recommended Posts

My wife's well-maintained Suzuki Caribbean keeps having carburetor problems even after new replacement carb and gas line cleaning. A very expert marine engineer friend recommended the STP as a regular additive to the Shell 91 benzene she uses. Checked at various places in mid island (Central, the vendor shops outside Big-C, WAR 4x4) but no joy so far. Any knowledgeable info will be appreciated.

I found some at Amorn, thats the shops that sell all kinds Chinese made

stuff, tools, household stuff etc, ect, they have branches all over Thailand

but not sure about Phuket,I used the diesel additive, and I can feel a difference,

I used to use RedX from UK,buy in Tesco,Big C, but I think STP is better.

Amorn. I believe it's in basement of the main Big C on the bypass road.

Thx gents. I had already checked Amorn on my Big-C trip, no joy. No off to SuperCheap and then Phuket town.

Per Worgeodie might try RedX if cannot find STP.

Carburetor? R u sure? Now, i believe, only fuel injection systems are for sale in all countries. How old is the Suzuki?

it is about 20 years old.

there is many cars in Thailand that are using carburetors.

Am not sure why you even bothered with your reply.

To the OP.

I have purchased STP at carrefour. obviously they are now Big C but might be worthwhile checking to see if they still stock it.

on the bypass road between Tesco and the main road to the ariport there is a big shop on the left that sells all kinds of auto supplies.

I brought a can of STP oil treatment there.

It's before the Big electrical shop

Might be the alcohol in the gasoline is causing problems with this old car. Check the petrol pump and note the ethanol content. i had an oldster and the alcohol gummed up the gas lines.

Great call, may be a good idea to replace the fuel lines.
