Heat Press From UK doesnt work - any ideas how to get it working

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Im not sure if this is the right area of forum to ask this but here goes.

I brought a heat press over from the UK, the kind you press vinyl etc onto clothing.

This worked in the UK as is quite new.

It says on the side of press that its 220v 10A and 2400W

The lights actually come on the control display but no power is drawn to heat up. eg no clicking of thermostat as heat is added.

Is there anyway of getting this to work over here.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What kind of plug are you using, if its a UK one, change it to a Thai

3 pin plug, as the poles are reversed here, what is LIVE here will

be NEUTRAL on a UK plug. the power will be OK 220v-240 v.

Hi Worgeordie

Thanks for the reply. My thai wall socket only has 2 pins so have only tried with a Thai 2 pin. It had the same affect as UK plug with adapter on and only lit up the display but didnt heat up.

It should work fine, regardless of polarity issues. Quite possibly a cable has broken off heat element in transit.
