Changing Address

Featured Replies

Apparently you need to get a new drivers license when you change address, as the address is shown on your license.

Did that today, this was how:

1. Get proof of residence from Immigration, 200Bath, 30 min.

2. Drive to land transport office. For Pattaya, Hgwy 36 towards Rayong, 6km from Sukhumvit you will see the Regents school on the right hand side, make a U-turn back towards Sukhumvit and turn left just after Regents school.

3. Outside the office building you will find photo/copy shops. Make a copy of passport pages, take two photos. If you have car and motorbike licenses you need to double up on everything.

4. Go inside the office, second floor, counter 6 and they will give you a form to fill out, they will explain in English.

5. Hand in the application at counter 3 or 4, pay 55Bath, wait 15min and collect at counter 1.

The new license will have your new address and same validity as your previous license.

You say "apparently....."

Are you sure? Do you know if there's a grace period?

Appreciate the info you've given already (though Pattaya won't be my office). I won't have found and settled into a new home for another month or two, and am travelling about with temp accommodation in the meantime.
