Labour Ministry to develop workers' skills in AEC environment

BANGKOK, 3 October 2015 (NNT) - The Ministry of Labour plans to develop skills of millions of workers to get them well-prepared for jobs in an upcoming AEC environment.

M.L. Puntarik Smiti, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, disclosed that there are currently about 39 million workers throughout the country whom the agency is taking care of. Of that total, some 12 million have entered the social security system.

The Ministry of Labour is preparing to develop the skills of these workers for jobs either inside the country or overseas, the undersecretary said.

In addition to the planned development of working skills and trainings, those employees will be taught foreign languages and information technology, he said.

In particular, he said, the workers will be suggested to do jobs in tourism and service sectors which could bring huge earnings to the country while the AEC bloc is coming of age by the end of this year.

More than four million workers have attended the ministry's skill development programs each year, according to the undersecretary.

In addition to the planned development of working skills and trainings, those employees will be taught foreign languages by Thai English teachers and information technology by Thai soldiers, he said

Again it is a numbers game. Nothing to do with high quality learning as long as there are a lot of people on the list. when will they learn that quality not quantity is the most important thing.

Customer Service 101 (CS 101) In this class expert instructors will provide instruction in avoiding eye contact, using your smartphone while customers wait, pretending not to understand questions, gathering up at least seven other Customer Service Officers for a confab, filling out paperwork in triplicate, taking long lunches, availing ones self of low-interest loans. Early enrollment in this class assures one of a passing grade, a pretty graduation gown and a "diploma".

I hope that they'll have a One Stop Servince. ( Seen in Sisaket's ex tourist office)......facepalm.gif

Hmmmm a philipino with excellent English skills that will work for a pittance.

Or a Thai that wants fair pay and benefits.

Choices, choices.
