"Gassed" in Taxi

Featured Replies

Has anyone heard of this? My wife's sister after living a dozen years in the States has returned to BKK. On two occasions over the last year she thinks a taxi driver is using some 'gas' via the aircon system to put her to sleep and then take advantage of her/rob her/whatever. Both occurances have taken place during the day in taxis out of Swampy - the most recent one was two days ago after she arrived back in BKK from Phuket.

Did she not notice the driver wearing a gas mask?

Pathetic

Was she kicked out of US for being crazy?

Maybe it's a dream?

Maybe she was tired & fell asleep

Maybe she shagged the taxi driver & now feels guilty she crying rape

Maybe she's not telling the truth.

She left voluntarilry -- too many Mall and School shootings.

She was kicked out of US as she's mad & they don't want her.

Back to BKK where she's been gassed, fondled and robbed twice in a year? Jeez.

I recall a local news item some time in the past year where a Bangkok taxi driver had been suspected of gassing passengers. I can't recall if he was actually apprehended and punished though.

How is he gassing people if he's in the taxi. Is he immune?

He holds his breath, for like twenty minutes!

Must be from one of those hill tribes.

At least i got a good laugh reading this.

Probably just the stench of phla ra/ garlic / staaw, enough to make anyone sick sometimes.

Since she left did the shootings mysteriously stop?biggrin.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.png

I really doubt this.

I take taxis from Swampy all the time.

No driver has ever tried to molest me.tongue.png

He doesnt say she was gassed and robbed or whatever. She thinks that could be the intent.

gassing no. exhaust gassing quite possible. Always open the window a bit even if the taxi guy says No do.

Taxi driver offering laughing gas at 100 baht a pop

A friends Wife has claimed the same... that she has felt sleepy in a taxi...

After pointing out that the taxi driver would also fall asleep if she were being gassed she was convinced there is some way the driver is gassing her only.

You can't re-educate stupid... this has been a long running urban myth...

its not possible that after a busy day (or journey) someone sitting on the sunny side of the car starts to feel a little sleepy... some people are just plain dumb when it comes to issues such as this.

Maybe the driver has a drop down oxygen mask, just like a plane, no? laugh.png
