ISIL claims responsibility for bloody Beirut bomb blasts

BEIRUT: -- ISIL has claimed responsibility for the deadly double bomb attack in Beirut.

At least 41 people have been killed and more than 200 injured in the blasts.

The attacks took place in a southern suburb of the city, a stronghold of the Shi’ite Hezbollah movement.

ISIL claim a bomb was concealed in a motorbike parked in the area, which was the first to explode.

The second bomber detonated his suicide vest in the chaos following the first explosion.

A third bomber was found dead at the scene, his vest having failed to explode.

The first bomb blew up near a bakery shortly after evening prayers, the second 50 metres away.

Scores of injured are being treated in the city’s hospitals.

The area has been the target of a number of bomb attacks since Hezbollah joined the war in Syria alongside forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad.

Lebanese authorities have declared Friday a day of mourning.

Every cloud has a silver lining, at least ISIL is now doing the right thing by taking the fight to the Hezbollah

That's maybe a bit short sighted. ISIL or whatever that pack of rapists calls itself, only works when they are killing people. They are riding on a wave, Allah is with them. This means more refugees without a doubt.

Why do you assume that the Shiite casualties weren't civilians?

Wow great! Now we have an ISIL supporter in Thai Visa! I thought you only support Israel!

Btw, it's Middle East or is it because you're confessing that Western countries have gone too far meddling in the region?

No matter what one may think of Hezbollah at least they are one of the more successful groups countering Daesh expansion in Syria. Daesh are using the same tactic that their core leadership, under a different banner, tried in Iraq during the US occupation, creation of a sectarian civil war (refer Management of Savagery). If they succeed in further destabilisation of Lebanon it will create enormous pressure on the outflow of refugees, further complicate the war in Syria and add to Israel's security problems - not good for the M.E or the world.

Only 3 men were Hezbollah members of the 43 casualties. The 3 were not specifically targeted: they were there at the wrong time, on the wrong place. So, 40 of them were random civilians.

The bombs were detonated on an crowded open market just after praying time.

Hezbollah security forces catched one of the bombers alive.

That's what you call the right thing ?

Iran had the same motorcycle bombings against nuclear scientist wich pointed to another direction than ISIL...

All "terrorists" are not the same.

Except Hezbollah is a lot different than Deash... Hezbollah works within the Lebonese political system, with elected members of Parliament and coordinates activities with the Lebanese military. When was the last time they targeted civilians? Maybe 2012 in Bulguaria?

ISIL fights everyone non-stop executes civilians by the scores.
