Honestly, doing multiple runoff polls was something I thought about before I came to the conclusion that there were too many pitfalls with that, and that a pruning process by the management was better.

The one thing I did totally reject was a pruning process done by random members, so I'm happy to see that is being rejected now as well.

Perhaps I was wrong about the multiple polls scheme being too problematical.

If you're going with a random division for the two polls, why not just do it ALPHABETICALLY?

Good luck!

Alphabetically it is.

Or do we prefer astronomologically? Or geographically? Or...

I think we should line up in order of height and then alternate into group 1 and group 2.

This runoff poll can be done in one poll thread.

You can do two polls in one thread.

The user must vote in both polls or the vote won't record.

If you split it into two threads ... one of them may fade away compared to the other.

You want equal focus on both polls.

So doing it in ONE thread is much better.

Make it clear in the OP that voters MUST vote in both polls. No choice.

To add the SECOND poll to the ONE thread, click ADD ANOTHER QUESTION when creating your poll thread.

Do not click on Make votes public.

Do not click on Allow Multiple Votes on Either Poll (or that will totally mess things up!)

The voter chooses ONE name for EACH of the TWO questions.
