Sometime in the end of December we plan to spend one night in Patong and since we are planning for a cheap guesthouse we probably need to find a proper/secure place to park our car overnight. I know that Youngceylon has a big parkinggarage but can you leave your car there overnight? Other options in that area?

Ask your guesthouse, they will know the area and best place to park.

Car theft and vandalism is much less likely here than in western countries. (As long as you don't park in an area claimed by one of the transport mafia gangs)

You can park on the street with a reasonable expectation that all will be fine the next day, as long as you avoid the possibility of early hour, drunk drivers playing pinball with your vehicle on their way home.

But there should be no problem parking anywhere along the new road behind Jungceylon so long as not so close to the Mall. Ask your guesthouse.
