Suzuki Intruder 1400 cc looking for a new owner...

Sawasdee khrap,

First, I'd like to apologize when posting in the wrong forum, I thought there're plenty of bikers living in the northeast, so here we go...

A Thai guy, living just around the corner, who knows that I had two big bikes before, offered me his Intruder1400 cc.

He first wanted 180,000 baht and I started laughing. After a longer discussion he told me that the limit would be 150,000 Thai baht cash. No monthly installments, or similar.

Here some facts about the bike. It's a real classic bike, no idea when it was built. Its first run on Thai roads was seven years ago, he's got the green book, I checked all and it's okay.

I made a test drive, but had my working clothes on and couldn't drive high speed. But the engine is good. Thais, especially Isaan people are sometimes hard to understand. The box in the back contains a bigger battery. He might think it's cool, but I know that a biker wouldn't like to have the battery behind him, or a passenger.....

It's got the original red/black Suzuki color and some little jobs need to be done. The bike has new tires and some extra lights, but I didn't checked on them.

My biggest concern was the engine and that's a good one, just a little bit too loud. If anybody's interested to see it and have a test ride, please page me for details.

The bike can be seen and test driven in the center of Sisaket town.

Sorry for the bad quality photos. It already got dark and i was on my way home when I met thie owner of the bike.

The bike has a front and a rear brake disk and has an oil cooler. Much better than the 750 water-cooled engines, in my humble opinion.

Good on you for helping your friend.

There is a saying in English.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Unless you are absolutely sure that the bike is legally registered with all import tax and excise tax paid in full and receipted, it is best not to claim "green book", "engine is good". Somebody here might buy it, get a nasty surprise and then blame you.

Alternatively, one of the many professional criminals who read Thaivisa might contact you for a "test ride" and before you know it, your Isaan biker mate is claiming you colluded in the theft of his Intruder.

Just sayin' like. It is best to cover your backside.
