just been reminded that at age 70 my current UK driving licence will auto expire !!

I didn't know

Refer to the DVLA website

all uk licences are issued until 70th birthday

and then can be renewed at 3 yearly intervals at the moment.

The people who wrote these rules must have been young whippersnappers who thought 70 is ancient. I'm NOT going to be old when I turn 70 before too long. smile.png

No, i cant understand your post..

at 70 my licence will expire for all categories to drive and ride motor vehicles.

Clear enough to me.,

If you have a Thai licence get your self an International Driving Permit for your Thai license so that you can drive in the UK.

IDP not necessary if your biodetails are shown in English on your Thai licence. The Enterprise Car Rental depot accepted my Thai Licence without comment last June.

And don't forget that if you have a photocard licence it has to be renewed every 10 years, and you also have to keep details like your address up-to-date. If you don't and you get caught you could face a fine of up to £1000.
