Elite Smile Dental - Dr. Krisada

Dr's. Benjaporn and Krisada are my dentists. I consider them to be the best I've found here and some of the best I've been to anywhere. Of course Dr. Jarunee is wonderful but the clinic has become too much a dental tourism kind of place.

Dr. Krisada is extremely liberal with anesthetics, and like my dentist in the USA, he mixes up combinations of short and long acting drugs. He has a whole cart loaded up with anesthetics ready to pop in the syringe! On one of my last visits a couple of months ago when he prepped for a crown and removed the filling and used the grinder for almost an hour to shape the tooth, I asked for extra strong anesthetic. He shook his head and said "O.K. but I think it will be too much - but I will give it." He mixed up 2 or 3 medicines and gave 3 injections. I am not joking when I say that I could feel absolutely nothing from my just above my cheek, down to my neck, from about 15:00 until about 22:00 that evening! When I tried to drink water, it poured down the side of my face. I have never experienced that ever.

When I returned 4 days later to have the crown installed, the first thing he asked me was "how long did you feel the effects of the anesthetic the other day?":biggrin:

Elite is the only place I've been to for crowns, root canal, post and gum graft, so I have no else in Thailand to compare.

Krisada has done some filings and 2 crowns.  He speaks good english, is up front and I believe he recommends reasonable treatments.
One time I went to have a crown mounted and he was looking at it and informed me it had a tiny crack... Come back in later.  I could not as I was taking a trip.  The temporary held up for about a month.

I'd easily say overall better work at Elite than the dental work I had in the states.

This is an old thread.

Can anyone recommend a good dentist in CM from personal experience.

By good dentist, I mean preserve as much of your good tooth as possible and don't rush through things.

I had a crown done by a male dentist there. I left for good after I asked for anesthetic, the guy refused, and subsequently hurt me. That was my last appointment there.

Now at Grace dental. Had a full mouth x-ray and bite-wings. The crown that was put on by that male dentist does not fit my tooth and leaves a gap for food to accumulate in. This could eventually destroy the tooth, so I'll need to have Grace replace the crown. That's going to be one very expensive crown, ie, having to replace a crown that should have been professionally made and mounted by a professional, qualified dentist. Hopefully the underlying tooth is not compromised.

There you go. Make your own decision.

@connda

Are you referring to Dr. Krisada?
