I,m getting "Firefox is not responding" in the TVF forum frequently lately, sometimes it hangs for a few seconds other times maybe a minute or so then all is well,it doesn,t happen browsing elsewhere I am running Windows 10 64 bit.............. is it a Win 10 glitch or a TVF problem?

Any help much appreciated thumbsup.gif

More than likely the DNS response of your internet provider - try using a VPN or change DNS to Google.

Thanks but how do I change my DNS to Google exactly?

It has been reported many times before over the years.. Myself use Chrome, Windows 10 on PC. Win 7 on a Laptop + both set long ago IP addresses 8.8.8.8 + even so often will not load, but only ThaiVisa. no other sites appear to be affected.

when I get the problem [many times a week] just use a VPN and opens 1st time.. only problem is many times forget and then a Thai website will not open with a VPN switched on.

I had an odd TV problem this past week: I could not reply to any posts for about 5 days. I would click on the "Reply" button but no cursor appeared. This was true on all three major browsers: Chrome, IE & FF.

I was able to write a topic heading but no text below. Concurrently, all avatars and thumbnails failed to display, instead, small rectangular boxes with "pip" inside would come up.

I emailed the forum help address and Linda replied that there were no blocks on my account. She suggested I delete all TV cookies and browsing history. I did that but the problem persisted.

My next step would have been to go to an internet shop and try access from a totally different system which would have showed which end the problem was on but before I could do that, the problem seemed to resolve itself and I was suddenly able to use the "Reply" function and everything began functioning normally again.

This should guide you through.

  • Configure your network settings to use the IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS servers.

Many thanks,I googled it and saw how easy it was done so I went for it,certainly seems quicker loading for sure,I will give it a few days trial and report back thumbsup.gif

After I did this my pc was loading quicker and the random freezing improved,(freezing was occuring not just on TVF by the way) after more research I was advised to try a couple of tweeks in the power management of my pc and this improved things greatly although not 100% much much better and I will put up with the slight blip rather than do a re-install.

My pc is a 5 year old Toshiba upgraded from win 7 64 bit to win 10 64 bit and the problem first started a couple of months ago (dodgy update-I dont know) I also have an Asus netbook just 2 years old upgraded from win 8.1 32 bit to win 10 32 bit and it runs absolutely fine.

Thanks for the help gents.
