New mobile phone battery increase size after 2 month use ?

Featured Replies

Hi

My Thai wife bought a new mobile battery at “sai day mai” busstation in BKK 2 month ago.

It is a Samsung brand… But it is of cause a Chinese copy .

Now it start to get bigger (fatter) and look like it could explode.w00t.gif

(It do not work anymore)

We had to use force to get it out of the mobile phone..

Morale: Pay a little extra and buy original…

Anybody have experienced this ?

The battery in my tablet got pregnant (i.e., swelled like a balloon)....see this earlier post with picture of the battery. Link

The cheaper the battery, the more prone to this puffing up they seem to be. I had it happen to a clone "Samsung" phone and several cheap tablets as well. Tends to happen when they are not in use. In my experience the containment envelopes have stayed intact...I would not want to be close by if one let go,

How to safely dispose of them in a responsible way is an interesting question I don't have an answer for.
