Convert Word Document To PDF File

Featured Replies

I would like to convert some Word documents to PDF format.

Are there reliable, free programs that do this?

Would rather not pay to upgrade my Adobe Reader.

Thanks for any ideas

The latest versions of Windows has "Microsoft Print to PDF" on the printer selection.

I use Kingsoft office (free) and it has the option to convert to PDF option.

Go to www.download.com and get free PrimoPDF by Nitro.

It prints any file to PDF file format.

In my version of MS Office 2013, Word allows you to save Word docs as PDFs. Do a "Save as" and look at the drop-down list of file types you can save as...

There are several free downloads you can access .... just google Word to PDF ... I used one a couple of months ago and it worked fine.

Office 2007 and above has PDF option on the File/Save As dialog.

With Windows Office 2013 you can use File/Export to create PDF document.

If OS X you can "Save to PDF" from any Print dialogue. You can also edit/mark up a PDF through the free built in Preview app.

Even OpenOffice has an "Export to PDF" option.

I must admit I never used it.

I use the "Foxit Reader" (printer driver).

^^^ Foxit Reader is really nice and lightweight.

I also use Word to Save>As .PDF.

I'm using Nitro 9, but MS 2016, I think also the 2013 version has the "Export to PDF function.

PDF is pretty cool, because it works brilliant with MS windows office.

Thanks everybody.

I found the Nitro website and it worked well.

I also found PDF option from the Word "save as".

Thanks again

LibreOffice/OpenOffice handle pdf format natively and also allow you to edit the pdf directly, which none of the other tools mentioned does as far as I know.

You can also download and use Adobe CS2 licence free. This has Adobe Acrobat which is a PDF maker/editor.
