It's not for lack of trying, but I've been unable to connect my Canon laser printer F151 300 to my ASUS 305. The automatic search function in the systems file of Windows10 gave no result. Equally a direct search on the Canon USA Support site.

Makes sense. But there is also no way to update the printer to W10. Which I tried first. Seems I'm stuck. What else can give a lead but the attached screen shot?

Did you download and install the driver from the site above?

Since it's a .exe file once you download it and then click on it it should install the driver automatically....then Win 10 will not have to even attempt to find/load the driver then because it will already be installed. Just be sure to download the correct version OS/bit version driver which is probably Win 10 64 bit unless maybe your computer is pretty old and then it would be Win 10 32 bit since you said you are running Win 10.

on your site LBP3050 No FInd. Google search gave this=

http://www.canondriver.net/tag/canon-lbp-3050-windows-788-1-driver/

Did download 64Bit version, tried to run exe file

pop up= do you want to overwrite ? Yes ..BUT not accepted

New search in section Divces = Not found, same when manuel search

And Printer show nowhere on my PC

Sounds like you are not going to the right site. Go to the site that listed in my post #2 and titled as below (or just click on below).

It leads to this Canon Support Driver Download webpage.

Takes you right to the actual Canon Support Drivers Download page for your model which apparently goes by the model number LBP3100 versus the one on your picture.

Making progress!! Thanks for endurance!

I did download, printer is actually showing under device, set as default. RE-started the pc.

But 1 stumble block still= if print command is given, the page is reloaded in another site BUT only option= SAVE or save as PDF

Just look close at whatever screen popping up that there is not a Printer settings which allows you to save or print to using various formats such as PDF or various physical printers....if so, select your newly loaded/default printer. Since you have not used/printed to the printer whatever print screen that is popping up is probably still using/defaulting to what you were using before your got the new print driver loaded.

Now back on line. Here you see what window I´m getting (uploaded from paint) No print. I removed LBP and will now to start from scratch and report, I guess before I should try to look for original default printer and remove it first

It was a good exercise for an often underused brain, at least I seem to have reached the dead end of the road. Will now use my good old Acer one for the simple task of printing

As recommended earlier, did you click the "Change" button in order to select the printer/output format? See my blue arrow I added to your image.

When clicking the change button it should open with a bunch of choices/destinations to include the printer you want to use...sure does for me like shown in the second image below.

From your earlier posts it sounds like the driver loaded fine and just clicking Change button on the Print menu will allow you to pick whatever printer/file formats you have loaded. What happens is that Print screen will remember the last printer/file format you selected (even overrides the default printer)....guess it assumes since you used printer or file format last time you want to use it again. Hope if works for you.

Why not go to printers - search in the Win 10 search bar - right click your printer and select 'Set as Default' as well as clicking change which will solve the issue one time.

Just with it being set to Default, which he said he had in post #7, may not work because in many cases the Print menu remembers the last printer/file format selection used, assumes you want to use it again even though different from your Default printer, and will show that when you go to print again. Being your Default printer does not result in a program "always" using it every time automatically.

Give it a test yourself. Right click, select Print, and when the Print menu opens change it to say "Save as a PDF" versus printing to your printer (default printer). Save the PDF. Now open this post again or another post, right click, select Print and it should be set to Save As a PDF again and to select a printer/another file format you need to click the Change button and select the printer/file format you want to use. I just did it to reconfirm. Since the OP had never used the printer he just got loaded and set as the Default, his print menu is remembering the Save to PDF or whatever he had been using before he got his new default printer loaded.

If you are talking drivers, info in Post #6 above (and below) doesn't work for you?
