I am living in thailand for 1 year

I have a work permit

I have a valid non-immigrant B visa

I don't have yet a driving licence

I plan to buy a motorbike but the seller is 200km from my hometown (BKK).

What document do I need to buy the motorbike?

Can I pay the motorbike and directly bring it with me (I have a pick-up to get it moved ton BKK) or should I come back with additional documents.

Regards

Hi,

Thank you for the reply Don Mega. Since I plan today. I will not be able to complete all the forms and therefore to bring the motorbike on the same day right?

Thanks!

You can download the forms and print them out, have the seller fill in the details.

all copies of everything need to be signed by the seller as well.

Here is a good guide for buying (also has the forms you need to download).

Thanks for the reply!

Since the seller is Thai, what is the purpose of the Power of Attorney form (cannot find any translation of this document). Is it a mandatory document?

Regards,

power of attorney is so that the seller does not need to accompany you to the transport dept to change the name in the book.

Not mandatory but very convenient for the seller.
