March 22, 20169 yr One of my friend every year gets OYSP in Pattaya Immigration office, since 7 years already. It has a visa Non Immigrant O because he has national thai child with parental rights sanctioned by a court. This year, he have not granted a visa because at immigration office need also to see child's mother. This sound new, mother presence should not be required, because the purpose of visa it's only the maintenance of the child, and the relationship with mother ended many years ago. My friend also bring with him the 10 year old child to the Immigration, they interviewed the child who has confirmed all that his father said.Does anyone know what's going on? It's normal?
March 22, 20169 yr Popular Post He apparently was a applyIing for a extension of stay (not a visa or a OYSP) based upon being the parent of a Thai. I can see no reason for them wanting the child's mother to be present since she has given up parental rights. I think he needs to ask for a supervisor or higher level officer to get it sorted out.
March 22, 20169 yr If your friend is looking for a visa he will not get one from immigration. More detail is needed before advice can be given.
