CityNews – On March 23, Police region 5 cooperated with the army to check villages and target areas in three districts believed to have high drug related crime.

The three districts are Jomthong, Hod and Doi Tao.

In Hod District, 6 drug dealers were arrested along with 8 drug abusers and 2 people who were also involved in drug-related crime. The police sized 66 Yaba Pills, a small wrap of opium, and 2 motorbikes. Three more people were arrested for weapon crime. 5 guns and 5 bullets were also sized.

These types of publicity photo shoots, are an opportunity for every uniform to come out of their office and display their plummage.

Colorful, well orchestrated and promptly forgotten until the next gathering.

It is the unintended humour of some of these Thai police stories that keeps me half sane.

It looks like the police ran out of handcuffs and the evil doers on the left have their arms pinned by the vests they are wearing.

At least it shows they are capable of improvising.
