Suzuki SV 650 A - new model

Featured Replies

I see Suzuki have replaced their SFV 650 with the SV 650 A with a price reduction of 30,000 Baht to 289,000 Baht.

It will never be a big seller here because Honda and Kawasaki rule the market in 650 naked bikes here but it is now a sporty and economical 650 option that sells very well overseas.

The more options the better in my book.

I agree with that.

Would be nice to see even more bikes here at competitive prices and with show rooms all over Thailand.

I rate the SV650 as the best bike in its class. I am considering buying one in Chiang Mai.

Maybe try the MT07 as well, a lot of reviews have said it's a better bike than the SV (depending on what type of riding you do).

I have test ridden them both. The MT07 is by far the 'most fun' of the two. For an extra 20,000 Baht, the choice between the two is a no-brainer. It has to be the Yamaha and I say that as a fan of the Suzuki.

I think the MT07 won bike of the year in the UK a couple of years ago. It really is the standout bike of the middleweight naked sector.

I would add that Yamaha's support network for big bikes in Thailand is more developed than Suzuki's. This is an important point for me.
