Honda Wave 125i bore up kit online.

Featured Replies

Hey,

Has anyone on here bored up their Wave 125i?

Looking for advice on where to locate parts online as I am in the south.

I've checked Faddy Bike but can't find any other for comparison.

Thanks, for any help.

a few years back papa nearly bought a Wave125 bored/stroked to 1/4 liter.

Advertised as 'not for the faint of heart'

Chickened out, fearing cops would object.

OP: online search should yield a plethora of options.

Thanks!

I've found a couple Eng sites.
What I was looking for was the equivalent site for the Thais as it will generally be cheaper.

Google Monekyfather MSX ( the Honda MSX is a Wave engine) some serious kits ( Fin Bro) for sale there, in various displacements and up to 20+ HP

Beware of unknown ( cheap) brands.

Has anyone played with the gearing on the Wave 125i?
Looking for better top speed without screaming the engine.
It has a 36 tooth on there at the moment, anyone tried 2 lower before?

36==>34T will reduced your revs at your cruise speed by ~6%.

If the open road is your thing, try 32T.

Don't worry, bottom gear power will still be okay.

Fuel economy/range on that little tank will improve.

[sprockets are cheap so experiment if you want.]

Keep chain well lubed, & tire pressure good.

I'm noticed smaller bikes use oil when run full power for hours,

so √ that.

And chain will stretch more so √.

ya.

Awesome, thanks.

Just the info |I was looking for.

I'll try the 32t, thanks.
Any suggestions on chains?
Any good online dealers?

Consider just breaking down your old chain.

If you want/need new, local shops should have.

So easy to buy sprocket/chain/& labor there.

Keep an eye on the mechanics.

A 50-100baht tip will be greatly appreciated , and will help To Insure Proper Service in the future.

Cheaper chains [b300] are fine but stretch faster and lack the

o-rings found on more expensive chains.

I went in today and the guy said 32t is too low.....
He has 34t on the shelf and said new chain and sprockets would be 400thb so really cheap.

I'm considering a racing can and head gasket also.

There's a guy selling a secondhand 143cc bore kit imported from Europe for 2,500thb.
Most the shops I asked here use the original barrel and just bore it out for around 3k.

Not sure what way to go as yet.

Anyone have experience?
